The Zoppe Old-World Family Circus is back in Galveston this month, performing under a Big Top at Stewart Beach from March 6th to 30th.
Although this is only the second year for the Zoppe Circus to perform in Galveston, the origins of this performance started in 1842. Giovanni Zoppé, the current director of the circus, is actually a sixth-generation performer carrying on his family’s tradition.
“The Zoppé Family Circus welcomes guests into an intimate, 500 seat tent for a one-ring circus that honors the history of their old-world Italian circus tradition. Starring Nino the clown, the circus is propelled by a central story (as opposed to individual acts) that features acrobatic feats, equestrian showmanship, canine capers, clowning and plenty of audience participation.”
You can see the circus now through March 30th, but it is best to get tickets in advance as some shows do sell out.
Showtimes on Monday, Thursday, and Friday are at 6pm.
Saturday and Sunday shows are at 1pm, 4pm, and 7pm.
* Show up early for a unique pre-show experience beginning approximately one-half hour before showtime.
Look for the Big Tent at Stewart Beach. You can’t miss it.
Stewart Beach is located at 401 Seawall Blvd, Galveston, TX 77550.
